So I was talking in #dARelated and proposed a contest. What am I talking about?
You know my friend here, right? Mr. Knight is quite awesome, but he isn't exactly capable of representing me (and you're welcome to bonk me for assuming an apparently genderless emote is a male). Because the contest was the idea of and this is my first time I'm expecting actual participation, maybe can help me iron out the logistics. On the other hand, I do have some ideas for getting this party started.
Deadline is JUNE 9, GOLDEN DAY (just a fun way of saying MY BIRTHDAY!)
Judging is based on quality and how "awesome" it is. Think explosions, glowing energy sabers, BFG9000s, heavy machine guns, shiny power armor, and speed metal. Curse it for my lateness clarifying, but ideally entries should be something that can be used in a dA chatroom. If it's not, that's OK because I did not mention this condition earlier. IF you have any questions or problems, PLEASE SPEAK! I COMPEL YOU!
In order to join in, you're going to need to let me know you made something. It doesn't matter how; could be a note, comment, email, pigeon, whatever! All you really need to say is, "Hey, Jay, I made this. I think this is awesome. Take a look: <insert link to your awesome work>"
The winner's will be used by ME in chat rooms and fun stuff like that. The winner himself/herself/itself earns GLORY! And all the points I have (currently 129 and climbing, but the donation widget is open, which will go entirely towards the winner), PLUS 200 from . Finally, ALL participants get featured as well as free from both and yours truly, ! Maybe some of YOU have better ideas for a prize. Suggest it and I will do my best to deliver.
Most of all, have fun and kick tail!
In fact, if this idea gets rolling well enough, we might have special personal emote contests for all the Seniors and regulars and the like...But I'm getting ahead of myself. Also maybe we can make this so it doesn't have to be emote-exclusive (I have a plan brewing for Comics and Cartoons...), but that's for another day. If you think this is a crummy idea, you can say so (just be sure to also include how I can improve). If you REALLY want this to die on the vine, just say NOTHING!
